Lunar New Year - Year of the Dragon π
Hi mamas,
We had a great time celebrating Lunar New Year, the Year Of The Dragon! π²
Learning about Lunar New Year is always a favorite among students!
Using all our senses, students read, wrote, and learned all about rich traditions and customs!
Multi-sensory learning at its best!
Students enjoyed eating long noodles for a long life, oranges for a sweet life, making paper lanterns, and receiving Hong Baos βlucky moneyβ for a prosperous year. π₯‘π₯’
We wrapped up Lunar New Year with our Asian Brushstroke bamboo art lesson.
We immersed ourselves in Yo Yo Maβs music to inspire our creativity! β€οΈ
Our students learned about the ancient Japanese art of calligraphy, and we used black ink of our own to create beautiful bamboo brushstrokes just like the Japanese masters themselves. π
The tiny sprouts growing out of the bamboo represents new life as a sign of spring- the meaning of the Lunar New Year festival! π
