Winter Wonderland in The Schoolhouse ❄️
Hi mamas,
Check out how we transformed our classroom into a Winter Wonderland reflecting all of our fun winter learning themes. ❄️
We learned all about snow, ice, and arctic animals, and made snowflakes of our own through a STEM activity! ☃️
We loved learning all about ice this winter! ❄️
Students discovered what temperature water freezes and melts at by exploring water in its different forms through liquids and solids experiments and journaling. 📝
We made “ice castles” that tie in with our lesson by using Bundt pan molds and dying our water.
The students loved adding arctic animals, rosemary from our garden, and even sliced oranges to our molds for an extra fun sensory experience!
Once frozen, sprinkle with salt, and watch them melt!
Come join our adventure in learning by downloading your “ice lesson“ from our website (link in bio), and follow along as students learn about the water cycle. 🌨
It isn’t a winter wonderland in the Schoolhouse without a fun winter themed book! One of my absolute favorites is the Caldecott Medal winner ‘Snowflake Bentley’!
After reading this beautiful and inspiring true story, our 2nd - 5th grade learners crafted their own cinquain poems all about unique and beautiful snowflakes. ❄️
For an added sensory experience we made snowflakes of our own out of marshmallows and pretzel sticks to eat our way through learning about the six branches of a snowflake! ❄️
