Goat Playdate
Hi mamas,
This past fall we had a very special visitor join our herd... our male buck ‘ Elvis’ loved The Little Red Schoolhouse animals especially our sweet doe Hazel!
Students had lots of fun studying & learning all about animal behavior and ‘mating season signs’ here on our backyard farm! ❤️🐐
Our students have loved learning & studying our goats' behavior during mating season!
From observing the female doe’s flagging and excitable behavior, to the male buck’s peeing on his beard and smiling to attract a mate, there’s been no shortage of fun in learning here on our backyard mini farm!
And in case you are wondering... goat mating season really does smell like pungent goat cheese!
All very worth it to have baby ‘kids’ this spring! 🐐
Guess who’s pregnant ?
Our sweet Hazel’s blood test came back positive and she’s going to be a mama this spring!
We are over the moon, and can’t wait to share it with all of our learners!
This is going to be the best animal life cycle project yet, and I’ve created a goat study journal so our students can capture it all!
Join us on our backyard farm this spring for all the fun in learning with baby ‘kid’ goats!! ❤️
Purchase our Goat Gestation Journal in the links down below for the different grade level!
